I love L’Oreal’s BB cream. The lightest shade is the first foundation I’ve found that isn’t too dark for my skintone. (ivory and porcelain shades are, to give you an idea)
I wondered if BB creams would work for oily skin, I worried that they’d just sit there and feel greasy. I use mineral foundation exclusively now because I can’t stand the feel of liquid foundation on my face. I definately need the sunscreen, I might give a BB a try.
I went to Ulta today and they recommended a $38 tube of CC cream, which I guess is like BB plus 11? Anyway, I browsed the cheap aisle and picked out a tube of Maybelline BB cream for $8 instead. I’ll see if I like it tomorrow.
There are mineral foundations with SPF in them. So you don’t need to switch to cream to get sun protection
Ignorance fought. The stuff I’m using (Bare Minerals) already has a sunscreen, I never noticed. Either that or it’s been reformulated recently? Guess I’ll stick with what I’m using!
Glad I could help. I use mineral foundation too
Supposedly, the amount of sunscreen in cosmetics is so minimal that it makes no difference anyway. My understanding is that your best bet is to slosh on a bunch of sunscreen first, then do your makeup.
I use an spf 50 clear zinc oxide as a sunscreen under my mineral foundation. It works well for me,
I bought Olay’s CC cream with a hint of foundation today (around $23-24.00 at CVS). The amount of coverage is good - not heavy but my complexion still looked good after applying. BTW, you can get the same product at Ulta for $18-19.00 but it wasn’t worth the trip for me.
Is CC cream supposed to be an improvement over BB cream or are they meant to address different problems?
:).
I ordered the Missha #21 Light Beige, and they threw in a tube of the #31 Golden Beige for free. I am very light-skinned, and found the #21 to be too light for me - it does have some sort of stuff in it that oxidizes once you put it on your face. It doesn’t actually bleach your skin or anything like that, but it does get lighter - reminds me of kabuki makeup a bit. I found the #31 actually works better for me, though going on at first it really doesn’t look like it would - it’s much more greyish/brownish than my skin tone.
