Is a tip expected when ordering take-out from a restaurant?
I am clueless in this circumstance. Ocasionally I’ll tip 20%, 10% and nothing. I am not sure what to do when ordering take-out.
Wait-staff input is of course appreciated. Educate me please.
I don’t tip when I pick up food, any more than I tip at the grocery store. I figure that when I’m picking it up, I’m not taking up the time of someone who works for tips, or taking up so little of their time as to effectively not be.
This is more of an IMHO than a GQ. See an earlier IMHO thread Arrgh, so now were supposed to leave tips at the fast food restaurant. If that doesn’t answer your question, you can start a new IMHO thread.
