Tips for excessive energy

Originally I’d named this ‘energy budgeting tips’, but then I realized people would assume it’s about my ComEd bill, and it isn’t.

So, I’ve never been a real energetic guy. For the past several months, however, I’ve gotten into some semi-regular exercise (which I’m now increasing) and I’m losing quite a bit of weight. The side effect of this is that I have a -lot- more energy than I used to, and, as strange as it seems, I’m not sure how to budget it effectively.

For instance, today I went out and saw my folks. I did some banking, I started cleaning the apartment, I did double my normal at-home work-out, and now I’m considering doing some writing and editing on some personal projects. I couldn’t have -dreamed- of doing this a few months ago. The thing is, doing -all- of this is going to leave me exhausted by 7 tonight, I’m absolutely sure. If I -don’t- do it, however, I feel all this pent-up energy, and it tends to make me edgy and irritable.

So, I need some tips on how to properly budget my energy, if that makes sense? I’d rather not leave myself completely worn out at the end of a day, but I’d also like to make the best of this new-found energetic nature I seem to’ve acquired.

I say go ahead and exhaust yourself, you’ll sleep better. Aside from that, I got nothin.

(On an aside, am I the only one who misread the thread title as Tips for an excessive orgy?)

At what point does an orgy become ‘excessive’? I mean, I figured the very nature of orgies…

an orgy will use up your excess energy. an orgy a day leaves you pooped and happy.
