Tips Needed...no, keep your money

My mom is in dire need of some additional funds, so much that she’s talking of taking a second job. Instead, I suggested that she sell some of her stuff on Ebay, which she’s willing to do. However, I’ve not sold anything (although I’ve bought some stuff), and I don’t personally know of anyone who has sold anything on Ebay.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions or personal experiences I can convey to my mom? Or, of course, you could all just send some cash directly to her…

I have bought and sold on Ebay. IMHO the most important thing I can think of as a seller and a buyer is to make sure everything is very clear on all the requirements.

1 - Shipping charges
2 - Payment options (i.e. Paypal, Money Orders, checks etc.)
3 - Time required to receive payment (7-14 days seems the norm)
4 - Where she is willing to ship. If only in US then that needs to be clear
5 - Pictures are very important (good pics, not blurry or to small)
6 - Make sure all payments are received before shipping an item
7 - Package items neatly and correctly.
8 - Ship in a timely manner
9 - Leave positive feedback once the payment has been made

Also, before she lists items, have her compare with the same items she is selling to others already listed on Ebay. This was she can get a good idea of how to price her items to compete with other sellers.

That’s all I can think of right now. I hope that helps
