Tire comparison. (Opinions wanted)

I need a new pair of tires for the ol’ vehicle and thought I’d solicit some opinions. I’m pretty sure I am going to get a pair of Goodyears. They’re whats on the car right now and I have generally had pretty good luck with them. I am either going to get another pair of what I have right now (Goodyear Integrity) OEM or replace them with what Goodyear is saying is a better tire (Goodyear Assurance TripleTred).

So any opinions on these? Is the TripleTred worth ~$50 more/tire?

Thanks

Worth the extra cost? Probably.

Just looking at a few reviews, it seems that the Integrity tire is Goodyear’s low-end “It’s round, black and holds air” offering.

The TripleTreds are said to ride smoother and quieter, and with better cornering performance and better handling in wet or snowy conditions.

About the only downside to the TTs is that they apparently don’t coexist happily with old-style hubcaps that cover the whole wheel and will tend to pop the hubcaps off. No problem with today’s alloy wheels.

They should be good for 80,000 miles, and buyer reviews at Tire Rack show that people really like them, and really don’t like the Integrity tires.

Thanks, the reviews I looked at there seemed to lean that way also. I didn’t find that chart though, the tests I was able to find were in different formats so comparing them was odd. That certainly looks like they are the way to go.

Call your local Cooper dealer. Better tires than Firestone or Goodyear, for less $.
