I’ve demonstrated myself to be totally uncool already, so I might as well confess something else to you people. I’m a sucker for sentimental hogwash. I avoid sad movies because they make me cry. Christmas carols make me cry. Sad stories on the news bring a tear to my eye. I’m not particularly Christian, but the Origin Myth is so well put together that it chokes me up.
I know I’m being manipulated. I even admire the methods they use because they know my triggers. And those of enough of the public to make it pay. I’m just glad it doesn’t last all year so I can return to my caustic self come January.
Awwwww!
I’m such a sucker for sentimental guys!
Here, dropzone. I’ve got a flower for you, a card with some kitties romping in a basket full of Christmas-colored yarn, and a copy of It’s a Wonderful Life.
Now go put the movie in. We’ll watch it together. It’s always better when there’s someone else to get all blubbery with.
Thanks, but I relate too much to Uncle Billy.
Me too. Sometimes I have to pin my driver’s license to my shirt, just so I can remember where I live.
Aww, dropzone, sentimentality isn’t such a bad thing. I think it’s cute.
Happy holidays to you and your family.
And my very best to you and yours.
Yeah, but Mrs Zone is about as sentimental as a Marine. It’s like we’re backwards.
