I really enjoyed Ms Vowell’s Assassination Vacation, and Take The Canoli and The Partly Cloudy Patriot were pretty good too. She’s just Gonzo enough to help fill the void after Thompson’s suicide. (Gonzo History?)

Sorry, I see Vowell as being the true nadir of this past decade’s McSweeny’s/Sedaris cleverer-than-thou irony mafia. Can’t stand her.
I love her. Looking forward to the new book. I love anyone who can embrace their inner history nerd with such humor.
Do you base that on actually reading any of her stuff? I find David Sedaris (if that’s who you mean) insufferable myself, but The Partly Cloudy Patriot was good.

Great writer, cool voice. Went to see her speak in October and she’s very cute up close. Looking forward to her next book.
