Watching the Bogart movies on Turner Classic Movies.
Absolutely no realtion to the novel, but damn Bogart is cool and Bacall hot.

I agree with you, despite it basically being Casablanca all over again. Buy hey, can’t argue a movie with the line “You know how to whistle, don’t you Steve? You put your lips together… and blow.”

Interesting story about the genesis of the film: Director Howard Hawks was a fishing buddy of Hemingway. On one trip, he said something like “I could make a good movie out of your worst novel.” Hemingway asked him, “OK, what is my worst novel.” Hawks said “To Have and Have Not,” and Hemingway agreed.
Another interesting bit of trivia: It’s the only film from a novel by a Pulitzer & Nobel Prize winning author (Hemingway) that had a screenplay by a Pulitzer & Nobel Prize winning author (William Faulkner).
