Today has been with out a doubt one of the worst days of my life.
I have been waiting for moving day from this base for almost two years. Today was supposed to be that day. We had a walk through with our movers before and everything was fine. Today we waited and waited and waited and they never showed. I got a call from the base saying the movers refused to move our furniture because it was urine soaked by our 20- something cats.
Excuse me whilst I compose myself again.
WE DO NOT HAVE 20 SOMETHING CATS YOU DIRTY MOFO.
Our so called Urine soaked furniture has yellowy splotches- this is brand new furniture-It is NOT urine- the man did not even glance hardly at our furniture on our walk through.
SO they turned us in to our housing office and Ihave been having non stop inspection allday.
They said we were ok but that They could not control what the company did, So now we have to wait til Monday, 2 days before we have to leave this base to find out whats going on. We have no money to just up and get a uhaul, and the paperwork to get reimbursed has to be started before we do so we can be reimbursed.
I have never been so embarrassed in my whole life, the whole
freaking chain of command has been on the phone chewing people out here, when non of them even asked if it was true. And then they didn’t even apologise after “counseling us” on our cleaning habits, when the house was fine after all the inspection.
I am pissed to the nth degree-this has turned into a nightmare, we have been publicly humiliated, yelled at, and at the moment left to dry.

I hope nothing like this ever happens to them- i wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Sorry its not particularly eloquent, But I really don’t care- I just needed to vent. And For the love of snickers could someone tell me supposedly where I hid 20 something cats?
Which base are you at? I’m Stationed up in Yellowknife here, dontcha just love the canadian forces moving system?

Let me get this straight. Their way of letting you know that they were not going to move you was to not show up the scheduled day? That is just wrong.
You mention something about being reimbursed, reimbursed by the moving company? If they took any of your money make sure you get it all back plus any interest that they may have earned on it in the time they were sitting on it.
Also, what moving company is it? Dopers may want to know who to avoid in the future.

not only did they not show up- they never talked to us- they just called the base. I wish I had 20 cats because i send them to eat him

if we have to move ourselves, like a uhaul or ryder, weget reimbursed, but after paperwork in triplicate-we do not have time to get all the papers pushed through to get the money before hand
I am much calmer now-so glad I had a place to rant
