To the asshole biker arsonists

Hey fuckwads,

I getting tired of you and your motherfucking associates fighting your turf war in my neighborhood. Not only you burned 3 bars a couple of weeks ago in your deluded hopes of gaining control of the drug traffic in southwest Montréal. Now in the aftermath of last weeks events, you decided that it was a good time to resume it. You burned two more bars last night.

Enough.

I don’t give a flying fuck if you kill each other.

I don’t give an aardvark’s fart about who’s in charge of the drug trade.

I do care about living in a war zone.

You want to kill each other ? Fine by me. The less of you scumbags around, the better I breathe and the better the gene pool.

Leave us civilians out of your quarrels.

If you want to kill yourselves, may I make a suggestion ?

Get together in an empty place and shoot at each other. The last one breathing is the winner.

And since you like explosives and arsons, I strongly recommend as weapons of choices, hand grenades and flamethrowers. At ten paces.
Morons.

This freaked me out when you told me about it in the metro today, Detop, and I did a quick mental calculation and was relieved to find the nearest bar is some distance away.

I agree. This is very freaky, as if I didn’t have enough to worry about. brrr

Great Goddess!

They’re burning actual ‘open for business’ bars or did I miss something?

They’re burning bars, usually after closing hours. So far in these arsons attempt there are at least 2 dead. You see there are appartments above them.

A friend of mine who knows bikers told me it’s a standard Bandido tactic to gain control of an area.

Just another chapter in our 10 years old biker war.

Well…

Damn.

If you want to know more about them, check the CISC site.

In the last few years, they were mostly busy killing each other. Now, they upped the ante.

More info.

The fires were started not in the bars, but in the stairwells to the appartments above.

Also, a package containing explosives was found in front of another bar in my neighbourhood after the first 2 fires (fortunately it didn’t explodes).

And Matt, yes the last two were relatively farther away (one south of the canal and the other near Atwater), but the first two… the first one was less than a block from where I live, and the second one about five away. And there’s three more bars within a block of where I live with another one planning to open soon. So, yes, I am worried.

Further away for YOU maybe! I live darn close to Atwater. The Hell’s Angels and the Rock Machine never did this, right? They stuck mostly to car-bombs in the east end from what I remember.

I heard that the Bandidos are trying to take over. Yum, a three-way war.

sigh

The Rock Machine is now affiliated (part of ? I can no longer keep the the terminology straight) with the Bandidos. But you’re right the tactics changed. Previously, when they wanted the control of a bar, they beat up or killed the owner, now they’re going after the whole building. So far they have concentrated in southwest Montréal (St-Henri, Côte-St-Paul, Verdun), somebody’s building a stronghold.

Just got that on the news tonight, 2 other bars were burned yesterday, one of them before closing time so the patrons were able to call the firemen. This makes for a total of 22 bars that burned or were targeted. In addition the cops have arrested 16 members of the Bandidos in relation to these firebombings. Didn’t deter them. Now they’ve changed location. They are no longer targeting the south-west (my part of town), they have moved to the east end (my brother’s part of town).

Additionally, a couple of weeks ago, a 17 year-old kid was shot by a biker. The way the witnesses describe the scene is that the biker and his minions wanted to cut a line to get in a bar. The bouncer refused to let them do it, so the asswipe took a gun out and started to shoot in the crowd. Results, one innoccent bystander dead.

God, I hate Québec bikers

You folk should just pack up and move 2 hours west to Ottawa. Sure we have zero percent rental vacancy, bad nightlife, and no beer in corner stores but at least we have PH.D’s serving coffee in Tim’s due to the hi-tech layoffs and you don’t have to worry about your favorite bar blowing up.

Oh wait, you can’t smoke in bars now so most people wouldn’t notice if the bar DID burn down. The cause would likely be insurance fraud because the bar’s clients have moved over to Hull for all their drinking/smoking needs.

On second though, stay where you are or move to Hull

Thanks for the advice, but I can’t see myself moving to a town were they roll-up the sidewalks at nightfall (P.S. my other brother lives in Hull).

In case you’re not familiar with Montréal, the bars that are burning are not the trendy downtown ones, but the neighbourhood ones in low-income areas. For exemple at Le Beauceron bar on Ontario street east, one of last two attacked, they broke down a wall and poured gasoline down the hole while the patrons were still inside. Fortunately they smelled it and the fire department was able to come in time.

What’s different between the Hell’s Angels and The Bandidos is that the Hell’s gave a warning and allowed the patrons to escape before torching the place. The Bandidos, since they’re probationary members and want to prove themselves, they don’t care. They start fires in the stairwell, walls or roofs of the apartments above the bars, after closing time (3 AM).

And since lots of Hell’s are in jail, they figure its time to reclaim territory lost previously.

  • I mean, if they want to ride Harleys and look tough, go for it. I really couldn’t care less.

But it pisses me off when they start killing each other and it seriously pisses me off that I have to pay room-and-board whenever they got locked up because they’re too butt-fuckin’ stupid to cover their tracks in the most elementary ways. (Favourite biker-in-jail story: A biker was locked up for accessory to murder. His pals wanted to give him a TV for his cell. Fair enough - the prison authorities check the TV and find a cellphone stashed away inside it. The police immediately gets a warrant to tap said cellphone and replaces it in the TV, which is then handed over to the inmate. He, of course, retrieves the phone and confesses to the murder on the phone! Here, have another 12 years.)

Most of all, it pisses me off that innocents get caught in the crossfire.

The Scandinavian Biker wars got to the point where they used grenades, machineguns and - in several incidents - fucking anti-armour rockets - killing, of course, an innocent bystander.

The Hell’s Angels have demonstrated their sense of propriety and style by choosing as their spokesman a guy who cold-bloodedly ambushed the leader of a competing gang - with a submachine gun, in front of his wife. (Please don’t ask me how that guy ever got out on the streets again. But he did. Asshole.) And, of course, it’s never their fault!! It’s the society or the press or the police or someone who makes these things happen.

To top things off, they dare speak of honour and brotherhood and respect, as if they knew the meaning of any of those words. Assholes.

At least, they’re currently stressed enough that they don’t dare show up in their vests anymore. And they had to sell their clubhouses, which suits me just fine.

I certainly appreciate how you feel about this, but do you really think biker arsonists spend much time perusing SD boards for messages? To reach these fuckwads, try a letter to the editor. You might consider a pseudonym, however.

Rmat, you’re right. It would probably be more effective to do it your way.

However, this has been an ongoing war for close to ten years now. The cops have formed a special unit, the Wolverines, that includes all three level of police forces (municipal, provincial and federal). Doesn’t deter the bikers. The cops have asked for special legal powers to deal with the situation, they got them. Still doesn’t deter the bikers.

There have been small victories in that war. Most municipalities have established reglementation forbidding the building of so-called bunkers and have demolished the existing ones (if the bikers didn’t torch them before hand). Also, lots of Hell’s Angels (they were the bigger gang) are behind bars or on their way there. The problem now , like I mentioned, are the Bandidos wannabe (formerly the Rock Machine). They were on the losing side of that war until their affiliation, now they’re back with a vengeance.

At least it seemed that the Hell’s had learned their lesson at the beginning of the war when a kid was blown apart by one of their car bomb. The backlash was the cause for the creation of the Wolverines. After that, they made a point of not targetting civilians, these fuckers, now, don’t care.

Two words: Capital punishment

We don’t have capital punishment in Canada (and I’m glad about it, but it’s a subject for another thread). However, we do have lots of empty space in the Arctic. I would consider banishment there more appropriate.

I was aware of that. Hence the suggestion.

Yes, a subject for another thread (if at all–seems like it’s one of those subjects that, like abortion, generates the vehement expression of views, but produces very little genuine “persuasion”).

Maybe you could get Charles Bronson to drag his 80 year old ass up to Montreal and help “clean” the streets.

Is biker violence this out of hand in the rest of Canada?

I can’t speak for the rest of Canada, but here there’s been about 220 death (mostly bikers) caused by that war.
