Ah, I get it. I suppose he was cut off by several people in Trans Ams that day and he had to describe her appearance just so he could make it clear which one he was talking about.
Whoooakay. In that case, I am a lipo-retentive, vertically challenged, aesthetically hardshipped, socio-economically disadvantaged, mobile habitat dwelling…
Some, but not all of those things.
I’m Irish…and I drink. SOMEBODY’S going to find a way to make that hilarious.
I have red hair. SOMEBODY thinks that makes me loose.
On and on.
Some of us cannot be separated from the lower animals. Some of us are separated from them because animals make better people.
Oh for the love of Pete.
I’ll say this reeeeeaaaaal slow, so you can follow mmkay?
He. Was. Telling. A. Story.
That typically involves Painting. A. Picture.
That typically involves Describing. The. Scene.
THAT typically involves Using. Descriptive. Words.
What the ever loving FUCK do you expect him to say?
“The female homosapien driving the automobile on the road that did something not-so-nice, really made me angry.”
Well that’s a hell of a rant, isn’t it?
There are not enough  in the world…
Toaster52, let us assume for a moment that the OP using the term “overweight” gets a pass. After all, it is just descriptive. We still have the problem of white trash. I would hope that you can see that calling someone an overweight whit trash bitch could easily be seen as offensive.
Incorrect, oh stupid but idiotic one. The idea is that you are allowed to be insulting (to a point). However, that does not mean you are required to (viz my recent pit thread about The Girl).
That said (and, of course, my name added to the “Fat!=bad, so stop making it out to be” list), people who don’t share the road with other vehicles are not on my Happy Fun List.
Not if she IS. Usually, people determine whether or not someone is white trash by their appearence, if they don’t know them. It’s also a VERY effective way of describing someone’s overall “look.” As the OP was doing.
Right, that would explain why he mentioned her hair colour, what she was wearing, and that lovely depiction of the street scene surrounding the incident.
Oh, wait, that wasn’t there, just the fact she was overweight and a reference to her bloated cottage cheese ass. How could I ever have mistaken that for an expression of and appeal to prejudice?
Yes, it should be seen as offensive to the person it was describing, the human being operating the motor vehicle in question. It is NOT and insult to anybody else.
I’m new and all…but isn’t the Pit where you are supposed to rant and rave and get out your frustration in a healthy way then log off your computer and get back to your life feeling better for doing so?
If one must edit their frustration and anger, what is the point?
“To the overweight, white trash bitch in the Trans Am”
Uh, oh…better take out overweight.
“To the white trash bitch in the Trans Am”
Whoops…better try again.
“To the bitch in the Trans Am”
Okay…one more time…
“To the person in the car who did the thing that made me mad”
Just not helping deal with the frustration IMHO…
YMMV
Hey! Don’t knock the OP. It’s been at least two days since somebody gave the Professional Offenderati an opportunity to rally to the cause. They were getting a bit restless and needed an excuse to saddle up and ride.

TheFunkySpaceCowboy, I think its fairly obvious that you have insulted several overweight, white trash bitches who drive Trans Ams on this board. I suppose even though this is the Pit, the overweight white trash bitches who drive Trans Ams on this board will demand an apology regardless. Because heaven forbid insulting the white trash bitches who drive Trans Ams on this board, whomever they may be.
Damn straight a bike is a vehicle and entitled to the road. That is why they should pay $400 per year for a license and be required to have ‘auto’ insurance.
Bikes…if you are taking a lane, I hope you get dusted. I don’t want you to die or have permanent injury but I also want you off the damn road. Traffic is bad enough around here without slow moving bikes cloggin things up worse.
What really gets my goat is bikes who decide they are a vehicle and take up a lane but then decide they are not a vehicle and bypass large amounts of cars at stop lights and such. All if a sudden, when they get past the stopped cars they are a vehicle again taking up a lane. Which is it? Are you a vehicle or a bike? Choose. Don’t be flipping back and forth.
Heck, don’t choose. Just get the hell off the road. Hug the curb if you must be on the road but stop making rush hour worse.

Okay hamsters…cut it out!
Look:
Overweight=descriptive term, could be seen as necessary if the post was, well, descriptive in nature. Same with the Trans-Am. They can help to paint the scene.
White Trash=pejorative term, stereotyping a group based on perceived socio-economic shortcomings. Not necessary to use.
Now wasn’t that simple?
Binarydrone: gay and black are also descriptive terms. Let’s examine something:
To the black, trashy bitch in the Trans Am
To the gay, white trash bitch in the Trans Am
Sensing something ever so slightly offensive about those two things?
When BBJ used the phrase"white trash" here the “Professional Offenderati” came out in droves to slam her.
(wonderful expression by the way. Thank you, JCoM)
I’m wondering where the rest of that brigade are today.
I’m not defending the use of the expression “white trash” mind you, but it’s remarks like this that make me doubt the sincere and righteous indignation of Techchick68:
It reminds me of Nelson in the Simpsons and smacks more of bullying than anything else.
AMEN!!! In fact, I haven’t seen BBJ around on the boards since that whole nonsense went on.
In a rant I don’t see why one can’t use descriptive terms to describe ONE specific person or incident that pissed them off if it gets them over it and moving on to something else.
It’s Tuesday. We have worked a deal with the people who leap out of the shadows screaming “ORWELL! THOUGHT POLICE!” and explaining how it’s impossible to pit someone for being ignorant, incompetent, and inconsiderate without raving about them also being fat white trash. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we leave only a skeleton staff, and they do the same on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It frees up a lot of time for the organizational meetings.
