Today I Pit the people who love and hate Michael Moore. Listen up, screwheads.

Nope. Michael Moore is an incendiary, polarizing figure who brings to the forefront
some of the hottest political issues of our day.

Yes, and who knows this better than Michael Moore?

Ah, Lissener. I see that you’re here.

Ditto.

Much ado about very little, imho. [the MM movie, I mean  ]

Hang on, I thought Michael Moore’s problem was that he didn’t back up his claims with sufficient rigor, not that he wrote in nothing but bizarre and hallucinogenic implication.

Probably the most ill-advised and inflammatory comment I’ve seen all week.

I’m glad the OP doesn’t pit people who think that Michael Moore makes interesting movies and who find that Fahrenheit 9/11 is worth some serious thought once it’s been viewed.

He also made a movie about getting along, but there were some legitimate criticisms that seemed to take center stage rather than his message of non-violence.

Not everyone who loves Michael Moore has acted like an attack dog and not everyone who hates him has been an asshole.

Not all heated debates are about love and hatred.

The OP has a bittersweet irony that I can understand, but which is nevertheless amusing: I pit people who can’t just get along.

To be fair, the only person who some posters seem to follow around the board from thread to thread so they can comment on his every word is also Libertarian.

Moore? Good, bad, he’s the guy with the camera.

That’s not true, Apos. I’ve been following you around so I can comment on your every word. I just can’t ever think of anything good to say.

Well, Liberal/tarian is in just about every thread I read. Either we have the same tastes, or he’s omnipresent.

Are you really meaning to say that Moore is naught but an innocent bystander in his films?

Well, if you’ve read the New Yorker article on him, it is more than circumstantial evidence. However, even egomaniacs can be right. I give him brownie points for admitting, if even to himself, that an important movie should have the facts right and less of him. It is nice to see someone take criticism to heart (even if he’d never admit it.)

Oh, Fuck you people! Fuck you people up your motherfucking asses!!!

What article is this?

That would certainly explain his belief in God. I believe in myself too.

It used to be. His reputation for being loosey-goosey with the facts was so great that he determined to hire a battery of fact-checkers for his Bradbury ripoff. Of course, he still turned out to be wrong about a thing or two. He didn’t know, for example, that his mentor, Richard Clarke, had been the one to approve the Bin Ladens’ exodus, and he didn’t know that most of them had in fact been interviewed. When he found it out, he did not choose to interrupt post-production, but went on with the film and its inaccuracies. Anyway, since he was determined to stick to the facts this time, he had to substitute cinemagraphic techniques and rhetorical devices to suggest lies without actually telling them.

…for his Bradbury ripoff…/QUOTE]

Jeez, will you just let it go? You’ve already been told several times in other threads that titles can’t be copyrighted and Bradbury doesn’t have a leg to stand on in that regard, often plagiarising titles himself. You’re like a stuck record, and the worst thing is, you seem to be playing in every thread on this board.

It was in one thread. And I conceded the point that Bradbury had no claim to copyright, given a link from Buck. But that does not change the fact that Moore’s idea was unoriginal and ripped off from Ray Bradbury. “To exploit, swindle, cheat, or defraud” — American Heritage. Plus, if you don’t like my posts, put me on ignore. You can take your junior mod shit and shove it back up your ass.

Oh please. “To exploit, swindle, cheat, or defraud”? How does Moore’s title do any of those things? Is this film in some way taking money away from Ray Bradbury, or cheating him of something that is rightfully his and his alone? No. Your raging hard-on for Moore is clouding your judgement.

Junior modding, that was not. Calling you on your bullshit, however…
