Today I will win the Lottery.....

A while ago my brother won the first division prize in Lotto. It was very exciting.

I saw in the news that two people split the Lotto jackpot. How’d that work out for you all? Who was the other winner besides KittenBlue?

Two tix bought in Georgia and New Jersey will split the prize. California has to fix their computers and see if anyone else in this state had the winning numbers as well.

Well? Any of our Georgia or New Jersey Dopers rolling in cash this morning?

More specifically, North Georgia, almost up to Tennessee. That probably eliminates Swampbear from contention. I don’t think we have any Dalton, Georgia based Dopers, although it could conceivably have been someone from Chattanooga, or someone just passing through.

In Jersey I think the ticket was sold in Cape May, which adds Dopers from border states as well as vacationing Dopers into contention.

I encourage you all to play the Georgia lottery. Seeing as I’m currently the recipient of a Hope Scholarship (state pays for all tuition to an in-state school if you maintain a B-average), lottery money pays for my education.

Well, the Georgia winner turns out to be a 52-year old truck driver, name of Ed Nabors, who works at a Mohawk carpet factory. More power to 'im, I say.

Well, I’m going to win the Washington State Lotto today. So happy birthday, kittenblue, I’ll wave to you when our jets pass each other! (I have to head east to pick up my family, then back west to Hawaii for a while. So I’m sure I’ll bump into you somewhere.)

ETA: we don’t normally buy lottery tickets. We did today because my husband “had an itch”. I think I’ll get my cats gold plated mice. With chicken in them.

Hey, March 6 is my birthday too! (I had 2 tickets and neither was a winner. No birthday magic for me.)

So it’s tomorrow, kittenblue. Are you wealthy enough today to buy a pricey boytoy like me along with two tickets to a warm island with an endless supply of frozen Margaritas?

Oops, so sorry to forget… Happy Birthday!

I plan on winning the lottery myself. Admittedly, I don’t actually buy any lottery tickets - I just figure I’ll find a winning ticket lying in the street. Statisticly speaking, the odds of winning the lottery are so extreme that not buying tickets doesn’t really affect your chances.

It occurs to me that if one were to decide to quit the boards, skipping out after saying you were going to win the biggest lottery jackpot in the US, never to be heard from again, would be a heckuva way to go…

Well, I broke down and bought a NC Powerball ticket today. The prize is only $120 million, but I think I’ll be able to struggle along on that.

Actually, I have two tickets because I meant to buy a Power Play ticket, which adds a multiplier between two and five to any winner other than the jackpot, but there was a misunderstanding when I ordered the ticket. I could have refused to pay for the other ticket, but that would have meant the salesclerk would have had to pay for it. I did promise that if the non-Power Play ticket won, I would share some of the winnings with her.

Nope, darn it, can’t even buy you the Margarita right now! Out of four tickets (the son-in-law-to-be bought one when I sent him into the store to buy my third) we matched exactly two numbers, so all you Charter Members will have to pony up for your own subsriptions. Of course, if I had known that you were available for hire/purchase I would have chipped in for a fifth ticket…I’m sure I would have won then  !

I didn’t win either :smack:

So it’s too late to tell you how cool I’ve always thought you were, and pretty, and most of all generous?
 I hope you had a happy birthday!
