what do YOU Think about the ruling of this case?
I honestly have not clue what to think, sure he’s Mormon, but come on, 5 wives?
and SURE he lived miles from anyone else, but Utah banned plural marriage in its constitution in order to become a state.

I saw the title and thought it was about Tom Green from MTV. That’s very confusing for some of us kids.

Speaking of the Tom Green on question, I saw in the paper today that he said that he’s not legally married to his wives, but is married to them under God’s eyes.
Trying to get out of it I guess.
Well, my first thought was, “Boy, is Drew Barrymore gonna be pissed.”
Polygamy is illegal, and he apparentily can’t afford to support his value-sized family, so I hardly think he’s in the right here.
Then, for him to try and weasil out of it by saying he’s not really married to the other four makes me lose all respect for him.
I actually have met 2 of his wives. I thought they were ok. They didn’t seem to like me much, though. Must’ve been my hair 
No, I don’t think he was in the right. Most polygamist wives and children I’ve met are abused. I think I’ve met one polygamist woman who wasn’t. And the sad thing is, they don’t know it most of the time. They’re raised or taught to expect it 
As a side note, the Mormon church doesn’t really accept or condone polygamy, so you get all of these off-shoot groups of Mormons who start their own type of Mormonism. Polygamist sects.

He’s a telemarketer according to yesterday’s paper. That says it all doesn’t it? 
I think he is a childmolesting pervert who needs to be stopped. I don’t have a huge deal with adults with multiple partners but the age of these children he is preying on makes me retch. The new girls don’t get any younger while he just gets older.
I thinks it’s bullshit to charge him with four counts of bigamy. What if he’d had 12 wives? Would it then be 11 counts of bigamy? There should be one count: Polygamy. It’s the polygamy that’s supposed to be illegal. Bigamy should be reserved for those guys who are deceiving two women.
At least they didn’t get him for child rape on the wife who was 13 when they got married. Poor sap.

All of his wives but one are related to each other. Every polygamist I’ve ever read about has this ‘me man, you bitch’ type of attitude and parades around while his wives do all of the work. Every one seems to just have to marry a kid under 17 also and frequently marriages are arranged between the parents without the brides say so.
Every darn one has the same arrogant attitude, and, did you notice that, I think 3 of his wives are on State Assistance? I wonder how they managed that? You only get one State claim per family and it would be rejected if they discovered that all 3 were married to the same guy. Plus, he was on State Disability also. I think only two wives worked.
Not every group of wives are as happy to be in virtual servitude as his were either.
Did you notice how all of the wives resembled each other closely enough to be sisters?
When he was asked on an interview how he serviced the wives, he pointed out that they decide who’s night it is and if he don’t feel like it, they do without. It wasn’t the words that got my interest, but how he said it, like he did not give a darn about their urges.
I guess he doesn’t believe in birth control either.
My opinion of punishment for him? Twenty years. At least 5 before becoming eligable for parol.

Ever see that one episode of Nature about the sea-elephants’ behavior during mating season? Every time I hear stories about polygamy, that’s what I think about.
