Well, given that it is posted on a web site whose domain is registered to TG sidekick Glen Humplick, and whose registration info predates the move out of Ottawa, I suspect pretty strongly that it’s either Tom Green or his secretary who wrote the explanation.

Christ, I know you have to be suspicious of things you read on the internet, but can’t you do your own damn detective work?

Tom represents the best of what is good in comedy today.

Just confirming that my ass is, in fact, the wisest part of my body.

The Tom Green Show! I like to watch it, but sometimes it’s like, ok Tom, knock it off before you get in trouble. The funniest show i can think of right off was Senior Sexercise, and the trip to Roswell was hilarious too.

I don’t imagine Tom Green is doing anything worse than most other comedians. However, since he is on Mtv, he is an easy target for the media and these ‘perfect world’ groups to take their shots to get him off the air.

I say if he hasn’t or doesn’t get himself in trouble then don’t worry about him.

Did I mention that I have this bizarre sexual attraction to the man?

You better be nice or I’ll sic my lackeys on ya.

Getting arrested for feigning a sexual act on a roadkilled moose was trancendentally funny.
That having been said, I can’t stand him and don’t think he’s at all funny. I do suspect that he is not long for this world - and it won’t be the stunts, but that mean heroin habit that the Force tells me he nurses in secret - so, no worries here.

I don’t think that it should be a televised show because everything he says and does refleects what young people do today. If takes any idiot to go into a place and make a fool of themself. Man… I guess I’d do it for that kind of money. But let him do what he wants to do.

I tried really, really hard to not like Tom Green, but I couldn’t. I haven’t laughed so many times in a one half hour show since The Kids In The Hall. I’ll be the first to admit that his humor isn’t the most cerebral on TV and he’s not going to be around forever, but in a way I think he knows that himself.

Tom Green’s humour is far more intelligent than he is being given credit for. Much of his humour peels back layers of human socialization, as he commonly creates humor from social taboos and his form of interaction with others that makes us cringe.

Many of us laugh, no only at Tom but, we laugh at how proper and sociaized his comedy victims behave and many times I’ve laughed at my self for being so uncomfortable at what he’s doing.

If you are say that Tom’s humour is “retarded”, although I don’t agree with you, you do raise an interesting connection. Ever laughed at someone with a cognitive challenge(God, I hate political correctness). If you have, don’t feel as guilty as you should in realizing that it’s their lack socialization skill that is making us uncomfortable.
Many of the individuals who I’ve met who don’t like Tom are uptight as hell, lack confidence in themselves or are heavily socialized with little room for someone who wants to buck the trend. This humour is exactly what we need, and Tom recognizes it and I predict he’ll be around for a good long while.

I’ve only seen Tom’s show a few times, but I found it really funny – as long as he was annoying his friends, family or the isolated individual. But I also saw some bit where he was the announcer at a minor league baseball team and acted like a jerk until they ejected him. I just sat there feeling sorry for the players and fans who wanted to watch a game and had no choice in whether they were part of this idiot’s TV show.

Up, up and away!

Um … so, how high is your midi-chlorian count, then?

Oh, it’s pretty high … but only enough to give me insight into certain things.

“Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful”

Tom Green is such a riot.

Did you see him calling Bingo numbers?

I watched this several times it was so funny.

Since this old thread has been resurrected, I’ll just mention again my bizarre sexual attraction for the guy.

Pardon me while I burst into flames.

you know, funny or not, there is just something disturbing about Tom Greene. Any man his age who can act like that for any length of time just has to have some issues. Watching him makes me uncomfortable–you just want to send him a hug in the mail or something.

The guy is a congenital idiot. Having said that, there has been a stunt or two that he’s pulled that amused me for a minute or two. Over all, I would not be sorry to see him off the air. Then again, I have the power of getting him off my TV with the flick of a button.

Ruining a baseball game by acting like an ass and walking into a synagogue wearing a nazi uniform is deffinately grounds for a good beating. Given his insane brand of humour, he’d probably turn that into a show at the hospital getting stitches and a cast.

But what to I know. I never thought Andy Koffman(sp?) was funny either.

What’s funny about Tom Green is that he can handle himself with such a straight face all the times. Legs is right - the humour is that he pokes holes in social niceties and is able to do so without getting embarassed or scared of the reactions of others. He gets off on making people uncomfortable, which sounds mean until you realize that there’s no rational reason for people to feel that way - he doesn’t hurt anyone past the point of simply embarassing them or interupting their daily lives.

I haven’t heard the “Nazi” rumor but I doubt it’s true. It just doesn’t seem like his style.

Some of my favorite Tom Green stunts:

  • The mall cop routine
  • Hijacking the PA system in a department store
  • The “fish sandwich” (IIRC, this was on Spring Break)
  • Interupting the kids’ soccer game

I also liked the gag where he followed the pizza guy around and tried to undercut him. That one just wasn’t developed well enough before he got to the obligatory ass-kicking scene.

The “Bum-Bum” crap is stupid, though.
