Anyone else watch this last night? I hate to admit it, but it wasnt half bad. A few thoughts:
Tommy came across as way more poliet and well…sweet…then I would have imagined. And he seems to really be trying.
His roomate has to be the luckiest freaking guy in the world. Besides getting his dorm room decked out, he is hanging out with a freakin rock star!!
The band scenes were great. I felt bad for Tommy as everyone just seemed to expect he could march! Like being a famous drummer means you can do marching band.
I could do without the silly british VO, but I guess they needed some sort of narritive going.

Yeah, I watched (between innings of the Cubs/Astros game), but mainly because I live in Nebraska. I don’t watch TV generally, but will probably watch again next week. I did like how Tommy wasn’t afraid to admit that band practice “kicked his ass” and that he genuinely seemed intimidated by the one percussionist instructors/leader.
I feared the whole show would be about Tommy chasing ass, which, was part of it, but I have a feeling that kind of crap will take a back seat to the band/other stuff.
Was interesting enough to want to see what happens next week.
I didn’t watch the show, but I’ve seen interviews with Tommy Lee where he came off as fairly articulate and self aware. Not a mensa candidate, but not the brain-dead idiot one might expect either.
I think that thay’re making him come off as dumber than he really is. Plus, some of the professors seem kind of tough. I don’t really recall being called on all that much in college. Hey, it’s a TV show. They’re only going to show the footage that fits their “angle”, and that’s “ooh let’s watch the dumb wild rock star try to cope with a midwestern college”. And the hot tutor thing is just too contrived and a little creepy to boot.
One of the good things about it is that I never saw him display any star attitude at all. He comes across as friendly and amiable.
Oh, did anyone notice his sniffling, nose rubbing and lip-farming? A little toot to get going on those early mornings?
Is this the episode where they switched tutors at the last minute? Yeah, totally funny that he didn’t get to fuck the cute one and had to settle for the one that would actually help him pass his test. She seemed too smart to fall for that tactic, so I’m curious why she’d agree to be the butt of a joke.
According to cnn.com the “roommate” is someone they found in a bar and hired, their “dorm room” was constructed off-campus, and he’s not actually registered for the class he’s being tutored for.
