Well, she sings pretty well in “Party in the USA.” Sexy bubblegum! ![]()
Also “Seven Things” and “Fly on the Wall.”
And then there’s See You Again. As far as this sort of music goes, Antonina Armato is pure gold. (I’m just gonna take the defense of another Disney character and say aren’t I a little old to be listening to this type of music? Yes, yes I am. Gerrard and Nevil are wonderful songwriters in this genre too, and Adam Anders has crossed over into music supervisor for Glee, but he’ll always be “guy who wrote Hoedown Throwdown” to me.)
If other fomer Dinsey stars are any indication, Tony may have trouble keeping up.
Indiana Jones!
Marjorie Maine!
George Washington!

Joe Montana could bring 'em both down with ease. But he’s no threat to society.
I have to say that I have never quite gotten the Miley-hate. She may not be the best singer in the world, but surely she isn’t alone in that qualification. I’ve seen the show, and it’s not bad tween fare. She has a decent sense of comic timing, and the ensemble works together fairly well (Lily’s cute, and Rico’s a riot).
As to her personal life - so far, I gather, she has not shown any inclination to follow in Lindsay’s footsteps. There is the usual gossip about boyfriends and so forth, but as far as I hear (not that I hear all that much) she’s behaving herself fairly reasonably. Certainly speculation about her future drug use and promiscuity seem, at best, premature and mean-spirited.
She’ll either fade away in a few years as new tween stars come along, or morph into a more or less mainstream act.
