Cheryl Ladd of Charlie’s Angels has aged pretty well. Marilu Henner from Taxi appears to be fighting the aging process tooth and nail. I don’t know what Veronica Hamel from Hill Street Blues looks like now but her bio says that she’d be in her early 60s today so cut her some slack.
On late night cable a couple days ago I caught the 1985 movie The Sure Thing which I’d never seen before. Nicolette Sheridan played the eponymous blonde bombshell and was off the charts hot then.
Later she did yeoman work in a series of early 90’s Skinemax films which helps usher me through the teen years.
Now, well…um, let’s just say she’s reconstructed herself into something totally new. Not Melanie Grifith awful, but messed up in it’s own way.
Let’s not forget Cindy Morgan’s fabulous efforts in Caddyshack as Lacey Underall. Still looks fantastic today, though she completely disappeared from acting for a couple decades after that. She was like Brady Anderson’s 50HR season.
When you consider how some other hot 80’s women are looking now in 2006, Carrie Fisher is a train wreck. Demi Moore, Nicollette Sheridan, Victoria Principal, Kate Jackson…these ladies make Carrie Fisher look like a train wreck.
It’s all relative. Consider how far she has fallen: Possibly fueled more mastabatory sessions than anyone else, and now would serve a yound lad well if he were fighting a boner before a public speaking engagement. “Ugh! Baseball…Babe Ruth…Babe Ruth, Ice Cream…baseball, cold shower, think, think, think! Ah! Carrie Fisher now!”
Carrie Fisher goes up and down in weight. She’s been quite heavy, and then slim again. She apparently had pretty bad OCD, and goes through phases where she’s heavy and not well kept up, and then phases where she gets it together. In recent photos she’s fairly slim, and looks pretty attractive. She’s aging very nicely, and I think she looks better now than she has in about 15 years.
As for Cheryl Ladd, I hate to say it, but she looks like she’s had a lot of plastic surgery. I think anyone who is maintaining their youthful looks with a scalpel should be disqualified.
Carrie Fisher had a major psychiatric breakdown in 1997, with poorly managed bipolar disorder causing a manic episode which culminated in a psychotic break. I remember reading that she’d been awake for six days and nights straight when she finally snapped. She nearly died. From what I’ve read, she’s still heavily medicated, and chances are she’s taking an anti-psychotic medication which causes her to gain and retain weight (probably Zyprexa).
So y’all might consider cutting her a little slack.
