Top Chef 10/14 (spoilers)

Alexia is acquired dyslexia…people who can’ read…get it?

Got it. Didn’t know that. In fact, I didn’t know there was such a thing as acquired dyslexia. Ignorance fought.

I wonder if the chefs don’t like Padma because she doesn’t really seem to be a food expert, yet offers her opinions anyway. I don’t remember her dissing Ash’s food specifically, but he was in the bottom enough for it to happen.

No, Ash should be ticked at Ash. That makes at least twice now that he’s followed someone else’s lead and gotten screwed for it. If he had any confidence in his own abilities he’d have been much better off.

Am I the only one who is secretly wishing for Michael V. to get sent home early for making some kind of mistake? Yes, I know he’s the award winner, and the brother-brother competition is kind of interesting, but he seems so humorless and arrogant that I just don’t enjoy watching him. (And this is coming from someone who tolerated Marcel and Stephen from past seasons because they added something interesting to the show.) In this round I’m pulling for Bryan and Kevin.

No, I kind of wish he gets eliminated well before his brother, too. It’d be nice to get Bryan some recognition.

Well, Bryan and Kevin are tied for the most amount of wins.

I want Mike V to stay just to ensure that yonder douche Mike I stays crowded out of the final four.

My dad had a coworker like that who made him dread going to work each day. When I asked him why, he said, “He’s a nice guy, but he just won’t . . . shut . . . up.” I spent the day with my dad once, and I found myself actively avoiding the guy before the day was out, although I didn’t yell at him to quit being my mother.

As the lesser of two evils, I would have to choose Mike I. over Mike V. IMO watching Mike I. is like watching Marcel from the old season - he’s entertaining because of his douchiness. He has no clue when he’s off base about something, so he ends up being funny to watch without intending to be funny. Plus Mike I. occasionally says something that is intentionally funny, like his comment about Robyn never shutting up. I haven’t seen any evidence that Mike V. has ever laughed at a joke, let alone told one.

Edit: If I’m choosing based on who is the better chef (Mike I. vs. Mike V.), then Mike V. would be it. But I want Kevin or Bryan to win, so I don’t care if Mike V. goes home. Also, in terms of what makes the show more fun, Mike I. it is.

We clearly have very different ideas of what makes the show fun. Mike Isabella’s face makes my slapping hand itchy.

Mine, too, but we’re women so we don’t count in his opinion.

I am sooo pulling for Kevin to win this one. I looked up his resturant on the web and I may have to find an excuse to go to Atlanta just to try it out.

Guess you were never exposed to those “I have two daddies (one of whom is my mother)” types books as a child

Isn’t that fun? Like recreational outrage?

Well if that’s the case then they should re-think it. Padma has a very good palatte and a good knowledge of world cuisine. Her frist cookbook won best first book at the World Cookbook awards (whatever that is). I think it is just that Padma always gets the unhappy task of telling some one to “pack their knives and go”.

Speaking of Padma, I can’t remember whether the green jumpsuit was this episode or last episode, but can we please talk about the green jumpsuit? Because Jesus H. Christ this show is supposed to be Top Chef, not Top Gynecologist.

Padma’s wardrobe is truly awful. I find myself wondering whether she’s been damned to wear all the rejects from Project Runway. She often looks as if she’s lost a bet.

Mike V. bugs me, but in a pathetic sort of way. Is it possible for one twin to have Asperger’s but not the other? Bryan seems to be a far more balanced and relaxed person. It’s surprising to me that folks have trouble tellign them apart. Even the way they stand is clearly “extreme control issues” vs “relaxed.” I really was starting to like Bryan until the saran wrap incident. That was prickish and uneccessary. I give Mike credit for staying calm.

Mike I. or Robyn could go next next to keep me happy. there’s nothing new to say about Mike I. I just need to state how much I truly dislike him.

Evilness: Is anyone else creeped out by Robyn’s lips? It’s like a constant extreme cold sore breakout. If she was cooking for me I’d want her to wear a surgeon’s mask.

They’re both pretty intense, Mike especially. On Tuesday I found myself wondering if they’re from a military family - but I guess not. In a past episode they said their sister was in the Air Force, and if there were other relatives who did the same I guess they would’ve said so.

This paragraph is funny because I believe you have mixed up the two brothers.
Mike was the dick during the Saran wrap incident, not Bryan.

I thought the brothers were hilarious in their teasing of Eli and how he was flirting with Robin. “And then you had sex…”
