The new Top Chef spin-off premiered last night, with Marcel vs. Richard Blaise.

The format was two smaller challenges, one defined by each competitor, and then a main “duel”, the winner of the duel advancing to some final competition later int he season. (They said there are 18 competitors, 9 duels in total, so 9 people will advance, I’m curious what the format of the finale will be).
I thought it was pretty enjoyable. Marcel and Richard are both good TV personalities, the challenges were mostly fairly interesting, the food looked good. Definitely will keep watching.

I liked it, too.

The only thing that might put me off at some point is the zip, zoom, delay. stretch camera work with “bloop” sounds. I don’t need the artsy fartsy camera and sound effects.
