I love the new live format (not sure if it actually is live. but the live feel is good)
Aargh! First time of posting was sacrificed to the uber-hamsters.
Always good to see TG back on TV, it’s one of the very few programs on now I’ll go out of my way to watch. It’s not filmed live, it’s filmed on Thursday IIRC - some posters from another board I belong to (PistonHeads ) either watch the recording of the show (tickets are free but there has to be a 50:50 split on male/female) or provide cars for the features.
Clarkson did seem to like that DB9, didn’t he! Though I’m not sure if my car would beat the train to Monaco - crusing at 110mph is not something my car will do willingly. I’m sure lots of people will complain about he had to break the law to beat the train, but I’m sure a car would beat a train to and from any UK destination legally.
Exige was a quick car, don’t know why they made out it was new - it’s been around with the Rover K-series engine for a while. As for the Apache not being able to get a radar lock because it was painted black and made of plastic -
That Rover road test was v funny, the tests where they review crap cars are always the best, nice to see James May doing a funny bit.
Star in a reasonably priced car and the cool wall are still embarresing to watch.
Was that all the features? Any that I missed weren’t very memorable! Much more entertaining than the Grand Prix
Sadly true. (bolding mine)
I must admit - after posting the OP I got distracted so didn’t see much of the show.
Did you see how he built up the suspence so much for that woman’s score (can’t remember her name)… and then put her card in the bottom half? And then later she noticed that it was in the wrong place.
I used to be a fan of the Grand Prix, but now I turn over right after the race start. The pre-race stuff is more interesting!
I liked the feature last series where they were trying to ‘kill’ that pickup truck. For some reason I hope they involve a tank in this series somehow.
