Top Ten Scientific Proofs of Creation

I’ve always noticed that all the lakes are fine-tuned to perfectly fit inside the shorelines that contain them. The odds of that happening just by chance are too staggering to be a coincidence.

And so are puddles. And ponds. And creeks, and rivers, and… and…!!!

GOSH, Intelligent Design!

We’ve now proved that water is sentient.

And has soles !

When you looked right up and SAW with your own eyes, what number did you come up with for the age of the universe?

I think that Young Earth Creationism is nonsense, but so are comments that suggest that it is easy and simple to confirm the age of the universe.

BTW, how old does the Bible say the universe is?

You need to upgrade the board’s software.

I must agree. Looking up with my own eyes, I find it very difficult to tell whether the stars are large and very distant, or just some sort of tiny lamps suspended from the ceiling of the world. Small and relatively close makes more intuitive sense.

My favorite part of creationism is the incompatibility with the Noah’s Ark story.

“Ever seen a dog turn into a monkey?! Harhar.”
“If speciation doesn’t occur, how did all of today’s species fit on the boat?”
“The Ark just held each ‘kind’ of animal, not every species.”
“So those kinds then evolved into all today’s species.”
“Look, speciation doesn’t occur, except where my argument relies on it, in which case it does.”

I’ve always like to keep things basic with the Noah’s Ark believers. Why go into all of the logistical impossibilities or talk about wooden ship engineering problems and issues or the myriad issues with where the water came from, went too and how it avoided killing every living thing on the planet, when it’s easier to just ask ‘how did all the fish survive?’ That usually gets blank looks from the faithful who have never considered the implications of dumping enough flood waters into the oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, etc etc to submerge most of the planet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Beetles.
If we put two of every beetle species, only onto the Ark they’d have run out of space before they even started contemplating vertebrates.

But we know the Lord has an inordinate fondness for beetles, because he made so many of them.

BTW, since I just read it this morning, synthetic DNA has been produced. An article.. I don’t claim to understand it fully.

When come back, bring someone with a clue. You’ve brought a knife to a gun fight - a rubber knife. Do you not understand what evolution says, or don’t you want to understand. Or are you scared of understanding it?

The human body is a marvel of engineering. The countless complex machinations strongly suggest a fore knowledge, not some natural selection process. God knew that this body wouldn’t survive long without an immune system. A nervous system that can kick into auto-pilot whenever you touch a hot stove. Ear wax that prevents particles from getting inside the ear canal and lubricates the ear. The list goes on and on…

But even more so, it’s the reality that humans have a need for love, emotion and expression. We create art and music. Our actions are based more on emotion than logic or instinct. You just don’t see that with other species. I’ve never heard of a dog commiting suicide either.

I was obviously wrong about the assumption that he was a ‘seagull’.
However, he has played true to form for your average garden-variety YEC.

So predictable.

You have to wonder if this guy has children and if they are as ill-trained in standard scientific principles as he is. Tennessee isn’t known for outstanding public schools. He may very well be home-indoctrinating (oops I mean home-schooling) the brood.
That is a big thing around these parts.

This is a whoosh, right?

No. I think he’s serious. He doesn’t see that the “finely engineered” end product we have here is the result of countless generations of organisms who were just a little better in the immune system department, or a little faster with a reflex, than their brethren.
Because a few more the ones “a little better” survived to reproduce, everything now alive is pretty damn good at staying alive.

You’re going to have to explain this. You have a complex organism that is the result of either evolution that can produce complexity or a God that can create complexity. How can you tell the human organism strongly suggests one and not the other?

They have a lot of difficulty leaving a note.

A marvel of engineering? I think not. If anyone designed us, they could have done a lot better. One of my favorite examples is the recurrent laryngeal nerve, a nerve that goes from the larynx (in the throat) to the brain, apparently by the scenic route- around the aorta. In giraffes, this means the nerve is twenty feet longer than it needs to be.

How about the parasitoid wasp (Peristenus digoneutis)?
Are they a marvel of engineering?
Do you believe that your deity enjoyed creating such a creature?

As a point of discussion: The human body is notoriously poorly designed.

The knees don’t work well. The birth canal is obviously not large enough for a normal sized infant birth without significant travail and possible loss of life. The ‘oh-so-elegantly designed’ eyes are wired backwards and have a large blind spot near the middle of the focal area of the retina.

The eye of several species of octopi evolved on a different path than that of vertebrates. In the case of the octopi, there is no ‘blind spot’. This makes this eye design inherently superior to that employed by every sighted vertebrate species. Evolution can explain this. Can your religion explain this?
Do you believe deity loves octopi more than dogs, cats, hippos, crocodiles, birds, fish, and humans?

Finally, there are well-documented cases of non-human animals grieving themselves to death and in human terms this can be considered a form of suicide since it stems from a lack of desire to continue living. Tursiops truncatus (Bottle-nosed dolphin) is a very good example of this phenomenon.
