Had a clear view this morning and it was great. Checked out Google sky and it showed that not only was there an eclipse, but that the moon was partially blocking Uranus. How is this not new news. “Blood Moon Partially Blocks Uranus” is a great headline. :eek:
Saw it this morning as I pulled off my street. It was pretty spectacular-- red with just a sliver of white actually showing.
Clear this morning. went out when it was ~80% watched for a while, went inside. I went out twice more. May have seen Uranus (had my 8x42 binocs) but can’t be sure.

I was in a location where it was still in totality as it set-as it approached the horizon and the sky lightened, it kept getting dimmer, and dimmer, and dimmer, until I no longer could pick it out of the gloaming, even in my binocs or scope…
We went out around 3:45, but it was too dark to see anything.
And of course today has dawned bright and clear.
Saw it. It was very pretty. Kind of reminded me of a fire opal.
I wonder how many less scientific cultures have freaked out about it in the past.
