Touch lamp stopped working, any ideas?

It’s already broken, so I’m more than willing to take it apart and see if wires are loose or anything, but I have no idea how they work or what to look for/at.

Any suggestions before I go at it with a screwdriver. I do know to unplug electrical appliances before trying to take them apart and I know how to replace the guts of a regular lamp. That is the extent of my lamp-making/repairing knowledge so any help would be appreciated.

Unplug it and take it apart. Look at the module and wiring. Perhaps a wire just came loose. If everything looks O.K., then it’s probably a bad module. A replacement can be purchased from Amazon. I found one for $6.75 and another for $10.99. What’s the price for a new lamp?

Awesome, thank you so much! I would have had no idea how to search for the module and I have one ordered.

It wasn’t an expensive lamp, but it’s pretty and I’d rather repair something than throw it out and get a new one. I’m old and cheap.

My grandchildren’ s world thanks you.

Repair, repurpose or recycle. My plan B was to replace the touch thingy with a manual switch but Mom likes having a touch lamp next to her bed. Plan B also included swapping out my nightstand touch lamp with hers, but it doesn’t match the room as well. I’m happy it looks like it will be a fairly simple fix. Thanks again @Crafter_Man.

Stumbled upon this later, and just wondered if you were able to get the lamp fixed.

Here’s a chuckle for you:

My first girl friend’s family had one of those types of lamps; the entire outside was (faux?) brass. Soon, they started noticing the lamp was on when they rose in the morning. Faulty lamp? No, we deduced the dog was coming by during the night and sniffing the base. Lamp turns on, dog takes off.
