During the long races such as Tour de France I always wondered what happens when they have to go to the bathroom???
Check out this website for a response to that question:

It’s in there somewhere, but I couldn’t find it.
Basically, they urinate during “comfort stops” early in the stage where attacking will get your ass smacked-down and a bad reputation to boot, and later in the stage, when things are moving more quickly, there are complicated manuvers where a couple of teammates will support you at the back of the peleton and you go to the bathroom like that. They try not to show it, and it’s not something you want to try at home. Not only are you likely to crash, you’re going to need some pretty good cycling buddies to pull it off. Other than that, you try to plan around it and make sure you don’t drink too much fluid, but that really isn’t a problem on hot stages.
No, don’t even think about asking me for help.
Not for those with weak stomachsIIRC Greg LeMonde was sick during a big stage race though I’m not certain it was the TdF. He apparently had an intestinal bug and kept racing even with diarrhea running down his legs. He is one hardcore Mo-Fo.
Ewww, you’re right, that is gross.
At some point man, you just gotta drop the race.
