What’s the origin of the town names Marlboro (in New Jersey), and Morganville (a part of Marlboro, NJ)?

I’d presume Marlboro was named after Marlborough in England (as with many other towns with the same name).

I had thought the same as Gorillaman did about Marlboro, but this site says different.

Marlboro was first settled by English, Scottish and Dutch farmers in the late 17th century, and was officially established as its own township in 1848. The name was derived from marl, a natural fertilizer rich in lime found throughout the area. This natural fertilizer is unusually valuable and after it was discovered, the economy of the region began to grow.
