Toxic Sludge Is Good for Fish (I am not making this up)

I don’t get it either.

Alas, I don’t trust the Washington Times’ environmental reporting, given the way they screwed up the Lynx-gate story.

  1. What exactly is “toxic sludge”?

  2. The former EPA guy referred to “this plant”. What plant exactly? Where is it? What does it do? “Army core of engineers” lacks a certain specificity.

  3. I’d like to see more details on this EPA internal report. Maybe even a quote.

  4. I’d like to see a scientist evaluate the claim in question, rather than Rep Radonovic.

I agree there should be an investigation. Some decent reporting would be nice as well.

Ah, finally! The dawn of the Gatopescado dynasty is upon us!

Jesus was in a coma.

Bah, investigations just take too long. Just ask a local fisherman how many arms his kids have, then fire that many EPA employees.

Hey, I was gonna say that!

“What is toxic sludge” asks Flowbark

Darn good question, says I. I immediatly alerted my crack research team. “Google, I said…”

Regretably, I was unable to come up with a really really definitive answer within the limitations of my attention span. Seems to be sewer sludge, also lovingly known as “bio-solids”.

Is toxic sludge worse than sewer sludge? I mean, fuckin’ worse than plain old shit?

I sent a couple of e-mails to some people who ought to know.
Keep alert for the toxic sludge update!

This particular sludge appears to have high concentations of several metals, which is not a good thing at all. http://www.radanovich.house.gov/press/2002/may02/0502toxicsludgepollutantfigures.htm

So that means we will see George Bush (or at least the Army Corps of Engineers) eating those fish? (ala Monty Burns?)

I insist it must be a catfish. A twenty pound twenty year old bottom feeding crude-ass mother of all catfish.
