Toyota iForce V8 Engine

Yesterday I was driving around town and I happened to find myself behind a Toyota 4-Runner. I noticed a decal on the back of the SUV that said, “i-Force V8.” Toyota seems proud that they have this “iForce,” but I have no idea what it is. Is it anything like vTec or is this just a marketing ploy by Toyota?

I don’t believe the 4-Runner ever came equipped with a V-8.

Perhaps it was a Toyota Tundra that I’m thinking of – I do have a very bad memory. I spent all my brain power trying to remember “iforce” that I might have the wrong type of automobile.

A small “i” means “intelligence”, wait till you see your throttle set
up, its fly by wire! Its designed to smooth out a jerky foot, this also
does the idle up, cruise etc

And the new 4-Runner has a V-8.

Keep in mind, the the V6 still has more Horsepower than that of the V8. The V8 is designed for torque. And for really rich people who don’t know the difference or don’t care.
