Does Trader Joe’s still carry their excellent cheesecake (in the plain white box)? I keep forgetting to look when I’m there.
Yes, but it is more of a plain blue box.
It has always been one of our favorites - and even though it looks small, I strongly suggest eating a small slice first, as it really fills you up quickly!
Great cheesecake, closest to what I remember from the good old New York deli days - and you can’t beat the price - the whole thing costs about what you would pay for one slice in a better restaurant.
Heh. I actually called TJ’s earlier, but I was otherwise engaged and didn’t come back to post. They do have it and, as you say, it’s in a blue box. I did verify that it’s the old-fashioned New York-style cheesecake without topping. (I don’t like toppings on cheesecake.)
Roomie brought Sara Lee cheesecake (with cherry topping) from the corner market last night. I like TJ’s better.
BTW, I think you are recalling correctly - years ago it did come in a more generic white box with blue lettering that simply said, “Cheesecake”. Sort of the “Google” of marketing packaging - simple and to the point.
They changed the box to blue, with more text, a few years ago but I liked their other packaging better.
