Trader Joe's fans, tell me your favorites

Be sure to check out the seasonings section. I’m fond of Crunchy Chili Onion Sprinkle and Aglio Olio seasoning. They used to have a Siracha Powder that was great, but I haven’t been able to find it so I think it was discontinued.

yes! spices - this is important.

I love the Indian frozen dinners for lunch, and I just had the frittatas this week and am in love. I avidly follow Talia for Trader Joe’s on TT - as she seems to go daily to show what is new.

I only make it there every 5 weeks - there is one near my hair stylist - but it’s a highlight - they have the mobility scooter so I don’t have to unload my chair or try to hoof it with my cane. The store is not too big - so I don’t get worn out, and the prices are amazing. Also everyone who works there is kind and they help me take the bags out to my car.

CHEESE - I can try so many kinds without breaking the bank. I love their pink lady apple crisp chips, the Maple Pecan Clusters cereal, the banana chips for snacking, and their Rosemary & Fig crisps with goat chevre cheese are girl dinner.

My favorite part of Trader Joe’s is just trying things. There’s something new to try - and rarely a bad decision to make.

You’ll be pleased to know that I stretched my inaugural bag of these things to three whole servings of roughly equal size.

Which is a wee bit fewer than the 9 servings the nutrition label assumes. but close enough.

Thanks to you and to @Eyebrows_0f_Doom for the point-out. These are now part of my routine TJ’s repertoire.

Yeah, what’s up with that?? In what universe does that bag contain nine servings? Get real.

Eating them with grapes or cherries on the side is nice, because you can balance the hot and salty with sweet and cool bites.

Thirded. They are really excellent.

I also like their dried fruits, and i buy all my wild rice there, not because it’s especially good wild rice, but because i can buy 8oz of wild rice for an affordable amount of money..

They carry different stuff in different places. Mine sells 100% cranberry juice, for instance. Also sour cherry juice, and pomegranate juice. I don’t drink a lot is juice, but when i do, it’s often a blend of Trader Joe’s juices.

(I agree that their frozen food is excellent, but i rarely buy it and can’t make recommendations.)

Not for a going-on-a-plane suggestion, but as a general brag: I got some brie on my last trip and I didn’t love it, so I melted it with my roux and other cheese and made a fantastic mac & cheese.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned that they often, but not always, do samples. My kid’s favorite part of going.

It’s THE place to go for people who’ve read that tart/sour cherry juice will alleviate gout and leg cramps.

You can return anything you buy at TJ’s that you just didn’t much like. No receipt needed! (almost everything they sell is branded with their name so there’s no need for a receipt)

The fact that the following items have yet to be mentioned in this thread confirms that you all live on another planet.

If you (any you) bought one each of every snack they sell, it’d be a lifetime supply. Not too surprising that each of us have many things we’ve never tried.

With the happy result that you can be the 38th poster and still bring something new to our party.

Seems like a worthy retirement occupation…

Depends on whether you also want to enter the Guinness book as the fattest human ever to live, albeit briefly.

But it would be fun to throw a bring-food-to-share potluck party where the rules were

  • Everyone had to buy everything at TJs
  • No cooking. You could mix different stuff, but no heat.
  • Everybody brings 2 distinct dishes or products.
    • Ideally you’d have some advance coordination so 25% of the folks’ 2 things were required to be one food, one drink and the other 75% were 2 foods.

I’m not personally a fan of their plain milk chocolate (without almonds) although I like milk chocolate in general, but can vouch for their Pound Plus Dark Chocolate bars! It’s also a real bargain.

And they come in the handy single-serving package too!

I haven’t had it in ages, but their orange chicken used to be good.

One of the annoyances of Trader Joe’s is that they will drop something even if it’s one of your favorites. (Another is that their stores often have limited parking.)

My husband buys their pound plus chocolate. It’s okay, but i guess I’ve become a chocolate snob, and it’s not my favorite.

Wasabi Peas, Stuffed Olives. And yes to them peanut butter pretzels!

I just had an Epiphany about my peculiarities…

You are reminding me of a comment by @Eve long ago. When she took the lid off of a pint of ice cream in front of her mother and dropped it in the trash, asked why she answered, “Because its job is done, Mother.”
