I hate Trader Joe’s. They have bought the property of one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in West L.A. (TiaJuana’s on Olympic). TaJuana’s has been there for 30 years or so, and has delicious home made tortillas and a wonderful family atmosphere. TJ’s is coming in, and the restaurant will close on November 4.
(Actually, better Trader Joe’s than condos or something. But couldn’t they have bought the lot across the street?!)
You occasionally get a funky cart in San Dimas or Monrovia. But I got lucky today.
Came back with many goodies: crab cakes which I heated on the stove in a pan for lunch; reduced guilt chips–very good; rice crisps with salt and pepper, also good; Garden patch veg. juice; milk; my favorite multigrain pretzel nuggets mentioned earlier; hearts of Romaine for salads; Bruschetta; frozen Tilapia; clover honey; 99-cent marinara; peach sauce–gotta get it while it’s on the shelf, because sometimes it isn’t; green tea; bite size shredded wheat.
