Traffic circle-jerk

What the hell is THAT supposed to mean? It’s really not that tough of a concept. People inside have the right of way, and I, for one, do not yield to people entering. I’m willing to have my ego bruised, and I’m willing to bruise an ego. It’s the people who yield when they’re IN the rotary (read: those with NY plates, new Volvos, and old people) that fuck up the system. NOT those of us who get in and keep going. I am not the problem. People who haven’t read their registry handbooks are the problem.

As an aside, taking Rt. 1 from the north shore to the Wonderland blue line stop is the ultimate Boston area driving experience. You get Route 1, the tackiest, private driveway-est highway in America, 2 rotaries, and a jug handle. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Flymaster:

I took this to mean you entered the circle without giving way. No insult intended (the McMuffin comment notwithstanding). I have NY plates, so let’s consider it even. You are correct, it’s the lack of yield entering and the pansy yielding while inside that cause it not to work.

Raven is right. It’s an old XJS. You think I would sully my baby playing silly street racing games? Never!!

P.S. It is VERY quick though…and very responsive!

The English truly do a wonderful job of using round abouts and probably if I used them every day I’d get used to them. However, they are very scary when you are trying to get used to driving on the left side of the road and then coming to a round about. We went to Guersey last year and I’d like to know if Filters exist anywhere else? I thought I figured them out, but again I could have just been lucky as hell.

I’d like to gratefully pitch a couple of quid into the hat for eightpot’s WORLD ROUNDABOUT TOUR 2K1, particularly if I can be notified in advace of his arrival at the PCH traffic circle in Long Beach, CA. And especially partucularly if he’s going to drive on the left side of the road. I can recoup my contribution by selling tickets to that one.
