I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner with the 3.4 V6. I’m looking into installing a trailer hitch and wanted to save money by going to a U-pull it auto parts place. Unfortunately, they do not have many trucks that would be compatible with mine, but they do have 4runners. From my understanding the 4runner is build with the same frame as a Tacoma. Through searching via google it says there are some differences, especially with the newer models. I have not been successful in finding if I could use the hitch from a 4runner and put it on my Tacoma. Anyone out there ever done this? or tried to do this?
