Trainer suggested brown rice - Made some and it's not all that great - Any alternatives?

there is apparently a variety between white rice and brown rice. I think it is referred to as pink rice.

“Between white rice and brown rice” makes me think of parboiled rice. Is that what you’re referring to?

Well, there’s all sorts of rices. There’s black rice, red rice, and purple rice, too, for example.
