Trans-gender question

Since the government has decided to accept people’s gender by how that person perceives themselves, and prisons are usually government run, Does a biological male who considers himself a female, go to a female prison or male prison? And does a biological woman who considers themselves a male go to a male prison, if that person breaks the law? For the government to be consistent, they would have to.

To which government are you referring? The US has at least 51 different governments, not all of which have the same policies concerning transgendered individuals.

Just to simplify, make it a federal prison.

I have heard so take it for what it’s worth that you would be in your non-birth gendered facility only if you were actually undergoing hormone treatment.

I kind of think it goes without saying that any physiologically-sexed female, regardless of how they identify themselves, would last, oh, maybe, about 15 minutes in a male prison before being gang-raped to death. And as far as the opposite is concerned, I would hazard a guess that 98% of them would merely be men who see the advantages of serving a long (or life) sentence in a women’s prison as opposed to a man’s.

But hey, call me jaded…
