Transgender activists pressure Always to Womens symbol of feminine hygiene products

(Also, not that it’s relevant to menstrual products, but people on HRT that involves exogenous estrogen can and frequently do have “periods”. To be clear, this isn’t even some weird trans lore thing, this was discovered on post-menopausal women on HRT, which is what it was originally intended for, but has been reported (albeit not in large-scale studies) for trans women and other people on exogenous estrogen. The scale is a bit longer – it’s on average a 5 week hormonal cycle instead of a 4 week, but it includes the same general cycle and symptoms wrt libido, mood, etc, sometimes even including obnoxious, entirely functionally pointless abdominal cramping, just on a dilated time scale.)

I don’t know how you can have a “period” without a uterus. And most transwomen don’t have a uterus. You might have other symptoms of a menstrual cycle. I wouldn’t know.

Actually, all women have a prostate: Female Prostate | JNCI: Journal of the National Cancer Institute | Oxford Academic

I see someone had an extra helping of bitch flakes this morning.

The reply from mistymage was what I was looking for. I quote: "“The female homologue of the male prostate…” If I am not mistaken, a homologue is something very similar but not the same.

Next time, try to find a funnier response.

I don’t know for sure, but I’m fairly certain that Caitlyn Jenner has a prostate.

Totally possible. It’s also possible for a single person or a very small group of people to get upset over nothing and demand changes. I’m not saying this instance is one or the other, but I DO see this excuse used very frequently when, in all honestly, none of us really know for sure. I think it’s silly to insist that someone who says something ridiculous is *always *a troll.

How does that indicate criminals aren’t human? It reads like, “The police don’t hassle people [in general], they hassle criminals [in particular].” The bracketed additions are obviously implied.

Sometimes, it really shouldn’t be necessary to include every little tiny wedge of context into one sentence.

On the assumption that this is a genuine question, trans women are a subset of women, since gender identity is a mental state, not a physical one. A trans woman (born XY with the biological male sex at birth) will have a prostate that may be more or less similar to a cis man, the exact condition of the prostate dependant upon transition choices.

(And, incidentally, people born XX with biological female sex at birth also have glands analogous to the prostate that are sometimes referred to as the female prostate, but I don’t think that the principal point of ignorance here.)

Hence the scare quotes around period.

Not in biology, where it has a specific technical meaning, common evolutionary ancestry.

I’m not sure if it’s technically correct to call the female prostate homologous or analogous, but it’s not important to the issues in this thread.

I think its part of the whole trans movement butting heads with “women”.

I mean they demanded to use womens bathrooms and got it.

They demanded to be able to compete in womens events and they have and their bodies have given them advantages.

I’m guessing now a transman could try for a scholarship that at one time was set aside for women.

So this is just part of that.

Ok, now CBS covered it.

Fell better now?

This issue was posted on Facebook and many women find it a slap in the face.

Urbanredneck, there’s a question floating around ATMB as to whether you are deliberately misusing the terms transman and transwoman, or whether you are simply confused about the terms.

The standard definition of transman is a person who identifies as a man, but was assigned the female sex at birth.

The standard definition of transwoman is a person who identifies as a woman, but was assigned the male sex at birth.

I ask because a transman trying out for a woman’s scholarship would be counter to the trans movement’s goal of recognizing transmen as men. Your previous post also implied that transwomen aren’t real men, and transmen aren’t real women, which seems backwards from what I understand of your position.

Yes, guilty of confusion. Perhaps I’ll just say trans person since I cannot get them correct.

Or rather “will not” get them correct.

Naw, butting heads with men’s expectations, more often.

For reasons that are a little obscure to me, I know a LOT more men who give a shit about transwomen in the ladies room than I know women who care. Ladies rooms have stalls, so there really isn’t a privacy issue. And a guy who wants to rape a stranger isn’t going to be dissuaded from hanging out in the ladies room because some law restricts who is allowed to enter.

I’m sure there are some women who care, but I have only met one, and I’ve met a LOT of men who are concerned.

Check out these links. They are women, not men, airing their complaints:

The first one is a woman complaining about a man being in the women’s room, while she had two boys in the women’s room.

The second one doesn’t even have anything to do with bathrooms.

I’m referring to the broader trans issue overall, of course.

Back when, I would’ve been thrilled to eliminate my periods.
