Transplanting a Nanking Cherry bush

I’m not sure if this is GQ, as it has an answer, or CS, as it’s about food, but I’ll start here.

A few years back, I planted some Nanking cherry bushes, and finally they are at a size that they are beginning to bear fruit. I’d like to move them to a location with more sun, in the hopes that they will grow better, and produce more fruit.

When should this be done? Fall (when the leaves drop), or spring (before the leaves form)? Or some other time?

I understand that I may miss a year of fruit, but if it leads to better conditions long term, I’m willing to take that risk.

I’m going to use my one bump to also add that I’m in New Hampshire, if that makes a difference on timing.
