Transplanting plants

I’ve got some daylilies and Lunaria (silver dollar plant) that I need to move to better spots. Is it bad to try this in August? Will I kill them?

You shouldn’t dig and transplant actively growing plants in August. Dropping in something from a container is different as the roots are intact. You have a strong chance of killing the plants or severely shocking them at this time of year. Wait until mid September and remember to water them still as falls are dry.
