Does anyone know what (if any) problems might be involved in this situation?
My friend is Armenian, born in Iran, and was able to leave the country for Austria five years ago as a refugee. After a year in Austria, she was able to come to the U.S. and now has her green card. Due to a family emergency, she had to return to Iran this month with her mother, flying from the U.S. to Germany then on to Iran.
Should there be problems with the Iranian government when she attempts to return? She’ll be flying from Tehran to Germany then back to the U.S. I’m worried that she might be held up at the Tehran airport (and possibly stuck in Iran) because: a) she’s not a US citizen yet, b) she’s using her Iranian passport to travel, and c) Iran might not like refugees leaving then returning and trying to leave again. Please help if you’re knowledgable in the subject, thanks!
