Traveling the the Waukegan, north of Chicago...good places to eat?

I’ll be going on a trip up to Great Lakes north of Chicago in a week and figured I’d see if some 'dopers know some good places to eat. I’ve been to Chicago many times, though it’s been a few years, but it’s been like 20 years since I was at Waukegan. I’d like some advice on some good pizza places, if any, and maybe a good steak house and, well, anything else that would be good. I’ll be there about a week. The only place I know of in the area, assuming it’s still there, is the Fleming’s that used to be about 10 or so miles away. Other than that, it’s a blank slate unless I actually drive to Chicago and even there we are talking a few years out of date at least.

The best pizza joint in Waukegan is Louie’s on North Ave., a couple blocks south of the hospital off Sheridan Road. You’ll be stepping back in time to the 1950’s when you enter. The cocktails are amazing, as well. Friendly place.

I haven’t been there, but in Lake Bluff, just a bit south of the Great Lakes naval station (about 3 miles) is Inovasi. I’ve heard good things about it. There’s also a thread here on a local dining board about it.

Haven’t been in ages, but the Silo was great when I was there, and still has good reviews. Deep dish Chicago style pizza.

I can recommend Tenuta’s Deli. It’s little out of the way but a delightful store and deli and worth the trip if you’re already in, erm, ‘the Waukegan.’ The muffaletta is second only to Central Grocery in New Orleans, as far as I’m concerned.

I confess that I’ve never been but people I trust recommend Captain Porky’s in Wadsworth. Note that they’ve moved so disregard the address in Zion.
