Note to self… shopping excursions when bored are a BAD idea. How did I manage to spend over $200 at the drugstore on cosmetics and other non-prescription stuff? (OK, the $24 refill pack of razor blades might have contributed… but still, WTF?) Thankfully I’d accumulated enough loyalty rewards to drop the cost to $50 after using up most of my points.
The Boy got home around 6ish, so we ended up making some homemade pasta with italian sausage and green peas for din din. I have a very happy tummy at the moment.
Also, since I’m still in housewifey mode, which means there’s a Sour Cream Citrus Bundt Cake fresh from the oven for dessert. The batter tasted delish, so I’m hoping the finished product is equally good. I’m just waiting on the water to boil for some tea before I dig in… the temptation is strong, but my desire for a cup of tea with my cake is even stronger.
Vundie, some people believe that Friday the 13th is good luck. Just go with that theory, k?

Pie, there’s about a liter (just over 4 cups) in a carton, so I probably splashed in 2-1/2 to 3 cups in the pot. I’m not very clinical when I’m cooking in the kitchen, only when I bake. Sorry!
Mahna, here’s the recipe I use for the Butternut Squash Lasagne. I use pine nuts instead of hazelnuts, and I make the bechamel and filling the night before. I do not like no-bake noodles, so I blanch the regular kind instead. I’ve also used the whole sheets of fresh pasta with great results.

Busy day. The rest of the laundry, grocery shopping, shopping for pants for ReboSon’s new job. And I bought him some groceries and delivered them to him.
After that, I stopped and hoisted a few with hubby this afternoon. It was fun playing Texas Hold Em, until I started losing!
Dindin was Salisbury steak, mashed NOT and peas. With store-bought german-chocolate frosted brownies for dessert.
