Treating fever in a three-year-old

I see that her temp came down, but I thought I’d share this tidbit. When our older son had a fairly high temperature recently (over 103) we called the hospital for advice. One thing they mentioned was to use a damp cool rag on his feet. It seemed to help.

The funny thing, Roadwalker, is that I have been the giver of advice in the past. It’s just that, waiting so long between the second child and the third (eight years), I’ve forgotten a lot since my older two went through this kind of stuff!

Thanks! This is one I’ve never heard before!

I’d never heard it before, either, but Texas Children’s is one of the best pediatric hospitals in the world, so I trust them.

While you’re alternating ibuprofin and acetaminophen remember that the liquid does are based on the idea that children will spit out a certain percentage of the syrup.

There’s no reason to make sure they get every single last drop.

I don’t doubt you for a moment, but damn that would be a long drive to get her treated!:stuck_out_tongue:
