Tried some quinoa "keenwa" grain as rice substiute. It was OK but nothing special.

I’m pretty neutral on the stuff myself. Fine enough in some dishes but its “protein punch” hype is a bit over the top. Yes it is a vegetable source of complete protein but it isn’t like it has that much of it or that it is oh so difficult to get complete vegetable protein just by combining different foods (assuming you are vegan, and if not who cares?) 8 grams of protein in a cup which is 222 calories. yeah 5 grams of fiber too.

A cup of black beans has about the same calories, nearly twice the protein, and three times the fiber.
