Trillian - Status:Orphaned

On Trillian, I see a Status:Orphaned when mousing over a buddy’s username. Either my Googlefoo ain’t what it was, or nobody knows what the heck that means. There’s even another message board where somebody asks this very question, and the answers are all some variant of: I hate Trillian.

My last and best hope is in the dope. Can somebody enlighten me?

Your buddy’s username isn’t associated with any IM account in Trillian. Right-click on the contact, there should be an “add to” menu entry that you can click on, sometimes just closing and restarting Trillian fixes it too.
