Trinity County, TX - Buttigieg Wins?

I was looking at the NYT country breakdown of Texas and noticed Trinity County reported results with Buttigieg getting 45.8% of the votes. I admit fewer than 400 people appear to have voted in this county but this makes no sense.

Buttigieg 202 / 45.8%
Biden 65 / 14.7%
Bloomberg 58 / 13.2%
Sanders 46 / 10.4%

Does anyone else find this odd? I’m very curious how a rural county in Texas could vote this way. Is this a very successful GOP crossover voter prank? I don’t get it.

If the tables were turned (Dem incumbent, contentious Republican primary) I’d switch my registration to R and try to fuck with their primary. Could that be it?(does Tx allow it?)

Is there early voting in Texas? Could it be so rural that people either mail in or vote early rather than traipse to the polls on election day?

Yes, Texas has an open primary, so a Repub could choose the Demo ballot and vote big for someone. On the other hand, this sizeable vote for Pete would suggest an organized Repub electorate in that county which seems kinda unlikely. Anyway it’s a pretty tiny sample.

Thanks, I just looked that the election results on the Texas SOS website and those are the real numbers. Weird that the Times got such strange numbers. If you look at the map in my link above the NYT also shows Julian Castro winning in Kinney County as well. Those numbers are off as well according to the SOS. I’m puzzled they would have such strange information when it is simple to confirm.
