A few years ago, I drove out to Las Vegas, taking I-40 West. The first time, all I remember was long roads, etc…
A year later, I drove out there and drove through the Hoover dam. Not through it, of course, just through the vicinity. It sure was cool, but, I don’t know why I didn’t go by it the first time. I thought that I took the same route, but, apparently not.
I thought I took the Kingman exit both times, and…uh, well, I guess I didn’t!
Can you tell me which two different routes I took? It must have been somewhere around Kingman, and the routes couldn’t be that far apart.
Thanks,
hh
If you’re sure you went through Flagstaff on I-40, there are only a couple of options. US 93 northwest from Kingman and across Hoover Dam (until a few weeks ago) or Arizona SH-68 from Kingman to Bullhead City, across the bridge to Laughlin, then north on US 95 to Vegas. I suppose you could also have gone I-40 all the way south to Needles, then back north on US 95. There are only three ways across the Colorado for hundreds of miles downstream of the Utah border.
OK, so is 93 the only way across the Dam, and one of the I-95 means I avoid it? I’d bet a jillion dollars that I went through Flagstaff both times.
Thanks,
