Welcome to The Captain- a young writer with just one hit, gets the Okay to move into The Captain, a legendary but with a lot of deferred maintenance Hollywood hotel/apartment building, where a Hollywood “name” could live with cheap rent. It ran for only five episodes, but featured a 67 year old Raquel Welch as an aging sexpot and the building featured many other eccentric tenants.
Captain Beefheart is the pseudonym for Don Van Vleit, who, with his magic band, started out performing blues originals and soon evolved into his own type of experimental rock music. He went to high school with Frank Zappa, and they occasionally collaborated.
