And the answer blew me away…

A: Situation Normal All Fucked Up

I couldn’t believe they had the word “Fuck” in TP!

I recall one that was technically incorrect, but mostly right:

Q: What Arthur C. Clarke novel was 2001: A SPACE ODYYSEY based on?

A: THE SENTINEL

Right title, but it was a short story, not a novel.

Clarke did novelize the final film, but used the 2001 title for that work.

The amount of mis-information in Trivial Pursuit (Genus Edition) is staggering. I haven’t played in a long time, but I recall numerous mistakes coming up under science, esp. One question specifically stands out in my mind. It may have been under the category of history. It asked who was the first person killed in a plane crash. It claimed, IIRC, Orville Wright.

Recently, after visiting the National Air & Space Mueum’s website, I got curious enough to ask their staff. The answer was that Orville was in an airplane crash years later (not using their first plane), but he was not killed. And, Wilbur died of typhoid in May 1912.

So, what mistakes have you found (in the bogus edition)?

IIRC, around 1908, or so, Orville was the PILOT of the first plane to crash and kill someone–his military passenger, I think. Right?

I seem to recall hearing that some mistakes are deliberate, to catch people who rip off their questions wholesale for some other product. No idea if this is true, tho’ it does sound cunning.

I have heard the same about map makers. Always add an extra road that leads nowhere.

I have the “Rock and Roll” edition card pack for TP and being somewhat an aficionado of music trivia, I found a mistake about one of the most well-known songs ever- Born to Run. The question asked was “The highways jammed with broken ______ on a last-chance power drive? in Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen?” Their answer was “BONES”!! The correct answer is HEROES.

She sounds really cute! As an aside, black panthers have the most serious face of any cat. They never smile.Staring one down in the wild must be terrifying.

Other cats smile? I guess they can have a contented look with their eyes shut that resembles a smile, but I’m struggling with the idea that black panthers really have a smaller repertoire of facial expressions than other cats. It’s a leopard. There’s maybe a difference between solitary and social cats?

I looked at pictures of black panthers. I don’t see why they cannot have that smile look. Seems like they have all the mouth parts.
Who knows how they feel? And whether they show it in their faces.
My Siamese never do that contented face look like my other cats. The one that gives them the turned up lip look. I assume they’re all pretty happy cats.

Maybe it’s their eyes?
