You write that as if you are agreeing with me, but you’re not.
Sometimes borderline cases can be the richest sources of insight. I’m not interested in only reading the opinions of those who agree with me 100%. How am I going to learn anything that way?
I flatter myself to think I’m pretty reasonable here but the Swiss Death Pods triggered me and I caught some flak there. I decided to stay out of the thread – couldn’t even go back in to apologize.

I’m not talking about how much a poster agrees or disagrees with me, but instead using criteria like “Is this poster stupid or a troll? Does it really matter?” to quickly decide whether a new poster is worth any of my time.
The IMHO about grandma is disturbing; almost certainly a troll, but disturbing.

That name looks kinda familiar to me. I think there may be someone who is using slight variations of that name, only using those four letters.
There is DCnDC. Don’t want to tag, obviously, but that may be who you are thinking of.
So, over in the Juessie Smollet thread in CS, I made the off-the-cuff remark of how I would rather be in solitary than the general population if I were in prision. This led to someone attempting to frame that as me making a claim about the use of solitary in general. I engaged with him lightly before looking at his posting history and seeing that he is a raging nutjob. This old thread, to me, seems to have a familiar MO (including interest in castration). Sock, or just drawing from a common well of disturbedness?
That thread was definitely bad and I apologize for it.
Just a Loner is a first-time poster but claims to be a longtime lurker. And he is deep into the conspiracy theories. May or may not be a troll, but his first post is basically calling everyone on the board sheeple (I paraphrase and summarize a whole lot there).
He really hit all the insane talking points (except the horse dewormer) in one post. Quite a feat.

Not new to me, and certainly not original:
No problem with lurkers. I lurked for quite a while before joining in the conversation. The post you responded to didn’t in any way disparage being a lurker, so your protestations are weak and full of straw.
Just a problem with trolls and trocks, as you seem to be coming off so far.
Maybe you’re not, but you aren’t making a very good first impression if that’s not what you are going for.

If you really believe the pandemic isn’t a real thing, or that efforts to combat it were misguided, I think most of us would welcome a little deeper analysis or some evidence. Personally, I’m more on “there’s not much we can do, everyone’s going to get it” side of the spectrum, but a lot of folks here have lost loved ones and are high risk themselves. So, I am willing to do my part. I certainly am a fan of the current occupant of the White House, and would tend to trust the CDC about public heath issues.
And we high risk folks thank you for it.

SO back to the purpose of the thread, I vote JaL as a trock.
There was a claim to familiarity of the board (covered by being a lurker), the instant finding of this thread (although the back links give him a credible cover), and the classic ‘everyone here used to be cool but now you’re a hivemind’ … I mean, if he was a long time lurker, there’s been debates on the nature and dangers of COVID for two freaking years, and you just noticed the science based consensus understanding of 90% of us now?
Screams Trock to me, rather than just troll or even ‘wake up sheeple’ witnessing.
The main reason I don’t think so is that most trocks know how to do a carriage return.
Maybe they were affecting wall o’ text for the purpose of seeming new, but they were just a bit too good at being incoherent.
