Thoroughly enjoyed it!
As Epic’s Go, I rank it right up their with El Cid and Lawrence of Arabia.
The cast was awesome,cinematography excellent.
Peter O’toole was a Good King who cared about his people.
I missed the inclusion of Cassandra from Mythology,she who warned the king
of impending danger including the Trojan Horse.
I also beleive the arrow that struck Achilles originally slayed him whilst he was
desecrating Hector’s body while dragging him around the Walls of Troy.
I rather enjoyed it as well. I felt Achille’s love intrest took up a little too much screen time, though that’s my big complaint. I read the Illiad since and realized that it was a really good idea NOT to include the gods, as the constant bickering(to me) just got in the way of the story.
Also, Achilles survives the illiad, but it’s implied that he will die in the not to distant future. I haven’t read the oddyessy, but Achilles doesn’t die in the book from dragging hectors corpse around the walls.
